I know what you mean. The person who did it was a beatles fan and he only did it to have his name in the papers next to the beatles. so he ended johns life for that, which no one remembered his name anyway.

I was born well over 30 years after John but he is the only man ever whose humour makes me crack up naturally. He makes me laugh so much. Compare him to other self-appointed ‘comedians’ from today and there is no comparison. It’s all down to his intelligence, creativity and wit.
